Eugene Deshayes was born in Paris, January 1, 1828 and died in 1890. He is considered a landscape painter from the French school. Deshayes received his formal training under his father, Jean Eleazard Deshayes.

 

Deshayes became a regular exhibitor in the Paris Salons from 1848 to1867. He became known for his small delicate light filled landscape studies, which were compared to the works of Camille-Jean-Baptiste Corot (1796-1875) and Eugene Boudin.
